This is a newly created role working for the Managing Director of this Financial Services Company who offer specialist and technical services to regulated financial service companies in the fields of market, credit, operational, liquidity and insurance risk.
Role involves:
Partnering with other business units: day-to-day delivery of services by the Risk Department; addressing operational issues; Executive Committee meetings; Board meetings. Operational Risk: manage existing and emerging operational risks, and identify news risks; reviews of any aspect of the Business, including Controls, Financial Analysis and Processes. Efficiencies and cost savings: help the Director in identifying operational efficiencies and cost savings; develop and implement plans to realise these efficiencies and savings; review resource requirements for Risk Division and manage capacity planning to 'Business As Usual' and project. Projects: attend various Project meetings on behalf of the Director; lead, manage and run selected Projects; manage project plans, delivery and execution; Financial Analysis & Budgeting: assist the Director in the budgeting processes working with the Finance and Planning and MI Teams and the various divisions and functions within the Risk Department; carry out ad hoc financial analysis working with the Finance and MI teams; track and monitor various business metrics, liaising with FP and MI team as appropriate, and highlight and obtain explanations for variances, issues and trends; develop, design and introduce MI
We are looking for a high calibre individual with extensive Operations Management experience, strong Project Delivery and operating skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail. Some knowledge of risk is desirable but not essential but a financial services background will definitely put you ahead of the competition. More important is a track record in delivering results and solutions along with excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to challenge constructively and to interact at all levels within the organisation.
