In this role you will be responsible for the Compliance programme of Optiver Europe and be involved in local as well as cross border Compliance related projects. We focus on electronic market making and arbitrage activities in a wide variety of products including derivatives, stocks and bonds. We trade with our own money and at our own risk. The Compliance position is focused on identifying and managing the reputation risks inherent in the business activities and advising on measures to mitigate such risks. What you’ll do Your primary focus areas within this role as a Local Head of Compliance will be to actively design, develop and implement new ways of Compliance training, to stimulate the Compliance culture, raise further awareness on rules and regulations within Optiver and to educate your colleagues on Compliance. Additionally you will look after IT compliance and advise the ICT department accordingly.
As the local Head of Compliance you will be responsible for, and not limited to; - Supporting the Management Team Europe with the management of the Compliance Risks ;
- Advising the business on Compliance matters;
- Arranging an effective rule-based Compliance Risk Assessment;
- Ensuring an appropriate and well designed Monitoring Programme
- Designing and delivering Compliance training;
- Initiating the development and implementation of policies and procedures;
- Identifying, reporting and monitoring ongoing Compliance risks;
- Managing a team of 4 compliance officers;
- Reporting to the Global Head of Compliance.
What you’ll need - Academic degree: preferably law, finance/economics or a comparable education in accounting or audit;
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in a Compliance management role;
- Knowledge and experience of the financial markets, ideally regarding the trading of financial instruments;
- Familiarity of applicable laws and regulations and the Dutch and European regulatory environment;
- Experience in / understanding of operational, audit and risk management;
- Good sense for cultural differences and developments in the social ethical environment;
- Persuasive, flexible and pro-active work attitude;
- Excellent written and communicative skills in English, preferably also in Dutch.
