Leading global provider of information solutions is currently seeking a Software Architect to join their team in NY.

Project Summary/Position overview:
The Transactions Platform Group develops, deploys and supports transactional trading software for the exchange traded instruments business unit.  The trading software includes various products including; trading for Exchanges, Targeted Messaging, legacy FIX infrastructure and various other projects.

The successful candidate will join a small team of Architects whose remit covers the whole of the Transactions product line.  Their focus would be on the ETI product line working closely with the current ETI architects and development teams.

Essential Day to Day responsibilities:

  • Liaison with product management, technical operations, customer support, development, security & service owner to establish requirements and produce cost effective, scalable architectures to meet business requirements.
  • Fully understand the interactions between all components that make up the firms Transaction Products
  • Fully understand the interaction between the product components and the operational monitoring and maintenance capabilities.
  • Be familiar with network technologies in order to work with network engineers to develop implementations.
  • Produce and maintain transactions architecture documentation.
  • Work with other transactions architects to develop overall transactions architecture.
  • Work with other transactions architects to produce architectural documentation for specific projects/products 
  • Produce technical briefings, presentations, FAQs, etc suitable for internal and external clients.
  • Assist product management in developing migration strategies for clients.
  • Work with development teams to ensure cost effective delivery of projects and to review technical deliverables.

Education:

  • College Degree (Technical or Science) or equivalent work experience

Required Skills:

  • FIX message protocol
  • TCM
  • Broad base of technical experience and expertis
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Business aware (needs to ensure architecture provides an appropriate balance between cost and capability)
  • Capable of providing thought leadership and abstract thinking
  • Ability to maintain perspective; able to see the wood for the trees (Able to cope with chaos and see clearly through the challenges that may appear)

Top Skills:

  • FIX
  • TCM
  • Strong Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)

Years of Experience:

  • 5 to 6 years of FIX Experience (Architecture/Design Level)/ TCM

Nice to have:

  • JAVA Skill- Would be a big plus
  • Previous programming experience- Plus
  • Team Player- Someone who can work with different people. Get involved in Technical Solutions when required
