Outstanding opportunity to join a new team at inception within one of the worlds leading asset finance banks. Principally focussed on the Shipping sector the role is to cover the financial institutions market for the sourcing and placement of all levels of debt and equity.

This new team is an amalgamation of the DCM, Syndications and Equity sourcing and is being created to bring all sources of capital under one team, which can then interact with the relationship managers who will be dealing with the clients.

The new role they are looking to fill is for someone who has an excellent knowledge of the various financial institutions with an interest in the shipping sector from banks, to supranationals, PE firms and Hedge funds, with a view to maintaining existing relationships and developing new ones.

The role has a truly global focus which will involve dealing with international and local providers of capital and building strong relationships to be able to secure funding for transactions.

This will provide a challenging but very interesting working environment with lots of interaction between internal teams. By joining the team at inception there will also be a chance for rapid career progression as the team looks to grow over the coming years.

The specific requirements for the role are:

• Advise on the pricing and structuring on debt asset classes, and equity

• Prepare placement/syndication opinions to be provided to the credit committee and the board of the bank

• Formulate appropriate placement / syndication strategies including analysing comparables information

• Work closely with the Shipping relationship teams in all locations across the globe, supporting these teams by:

oWorking with these units to source relevant equity / mezzanine / senior debt providers for transactions

oAdvise on placement and syndication strategies

• Private placement of mezzanine / equity transactions where necessary

• Maintain and expand exiting Financial Institution relationships – including researching and educating to build new relationships

• Co-ordination of FI relationships with relevant internal stake-holders

To be considered for this excellent position applicants must have:

• At least 5 years experience in a Shipping Finance Group

• Excellent knowledge of Shipping Credits and Financial Institutions within these markets

• Very strong analytical and structuring skills (These will be tested at 1st stage interview)

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills resulting in an ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally

• Excellent team player

• Have a desire to travel
