The business unit Trading and Portfolio Management is an active trader on all of Europe's energy markets and the number one trader of continental gas (TTF & Zeebrugge) and power (France, Holland, Belgium).  By actively managing GDF SUEZ's positions in power, natural gas and other related energy products, they play a central role within the company by optimising GDF SUEZ's European portfolio. The Central Portfolio Management team develops and offers the most innovative products and services to our customers by combining physical delivery, transmission access and financial instruments to ensure that our customers get the cheapest energy prices. 

Within the Trading and Origination group, we are currently looking for a Senior Originator for the Greek market.Origination acts throughout Europe as the energy commodity expert, negotiating physical and financial structured solutions with clients, executing market orders for customers, and offering consulting services to indirect clients through close ties with GDF Suez Sales Organisations. Origination's objective is to increase Electrabel's gross margin and turnover by offering unique value-adding  wholesale products and order execution to clients. 

Mission 

In this context, your main tasks and responsibilities as Senior Originator will be:

• Build and sustain relationship with the Greek and regional industrial sector, and build a personal and informal network by visits to prospects to promote and negotiate appropriate risk management solutions and cross-selling.
• Negotiate and sign standard and non-standard contracts, and takes all necessary actions (e.g. making sure that the necessary Master Agreements are properly and timely in place, in collaboration with the Legal and Credit Departments, in a way that protects both Electrabel's and customer's best interests and allows the commercial relationship to further blossom)
• Design, promote and negotiate non-standard, unique products with direct and indirect clients. This includes accuracy and discipline in drafting transaction term sheets, ensuring operational safety, collaborating with all support functions (legal, credit, finance, middle and back-offices), building cases for required approvals, and professionally informing management.
• Promote the top tier image of TPM. Give conferences, speeches, trainings and client presentations. Actively contribute to the internal awareness of the client business, via contribution to daily, weekly and monthly reports.

The Senior Originator reports to the Head of Greek Office.

Profile

• You have a master university degree in finance, economics or engineering (with a complementary degree in finance, economics). Additional qualifications are an asset.
• You have 5 to 8 years of professional experience. Experience in the energy business or structured product finance is a strong asset (business development, trading, structured sales)
• Knowledge of the Greek shipping industry is a plus
• You are client-driven and a team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
• You have a sound commercial thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit
• You are able to work on your own
• You are stress-resistant and able to operate in a changing environment
• Workplace: Electrabel Greece. You are mobile, willing to travel 20 to 80% of the time
• You are fluent in Greek and English (knowledge of an additional European language is an asset)
