We are looking for an Productcontroler or a contractor with experience in Bonds, Repos, FX, MM and Derivatives products for an Investment bank in the Netherlands (m/f)

Department description
The Product Control department is responsible for ensuring that the financial reporting is a true representation of economic reality, within daily, monthly and (half) yearly reporting cycles. The department is currently divided into support areas based primarily on the main products traded: Bonds and Repos, Foreign Exchange and Money Markets and Derivatives. Each support area consists of about 5-10 Product controllers.

Function description
The Product Controller is responsible for ensuring that adequate and robust controls are in place regarding the businesses under his/her charge (profit and loss, risk, balance sheet, systems et al). In order to meet deadlines (daily, monthly, other), it is important to prioritise tasks and to liaise closely with both Front Office (trading) and Back Office (processing) as well as ensuring compliance to company policy. In addition,
Product Control is the supplier of information to various internal departments within the bank, such
as Market Risk, Credit Risk, Finance & Control (for external income reporting and DNB reporting), and
Transaction Processing. As such we are responsible for the data integrity of the systems used. Product Control
also has an important role in setting up new businesses, implementing new systems and improving existing processes and controls. The role of an Product Controller within Product Control is a combination of daily tasks, problem-solving, analysis, project work both ad hoc within the dept as well as involvement in major systems/architecture changes. We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active, contractor, who can contribute to our aim to continually strive to provide excellent service to Front Office and all other customer departments.

Key Accountabilities
- Delivering timely and accurate reports about Positions, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet
- Ensuring data integrity by performing reconciliation on positions, results and risk-figures between systems whenever applicable.
- Liaising with Transaction Processing, Market Risk, Credit Risk, other control areas and systems support.
- Liaising with the front office desks on daily/monthly produced P&L reports

Professional background and experience
- Graduate in Finance, Economics or Econometric or Accounting.
- Strong PC skills (Excel and, Visual Basic is a must)
- Affinity with accounting discipline
- Experience with Investment Banking products, Risk management and investment banking accounting.
- Professional knowledge and experience with Bonds/Repos, FX, MM and Derivatives, Risk Management, Treasury, Middle Office, Operations.
