Working as part of the Accounting and Reporting team of Société Générale’s (“SG”) London Branch this role will assist the team with the production of financial and management accounts for SG’s investment banking activity.

Summary Working as part of the Accounting and Reporting team of Société Générale’s (“SG”) London Branch this role will assist the team with the production of financial and management accounts for SG’s investment banking activity. The role will include specific responsibility for the monthly reporting process and also cover preparation of other monthend reports and schedules used in the Group’s financial accounts.
Main responsibilities •Assist in the production of monthly financial accounts. Including the responsibility for the processing of ledger information through the bank’s accounting and reporting system. •Responsibility for the Branch’s inter company declarations – liaising with UK and overseas locations to resolve inter company discrepancies, •Assist in the production of monthly and quarterly reports including basle II production, maturity of balance sheet and other financial information. •Preparation and posting of monthend journals. •Resolving accounting posting issues with back office/middle office •Analyse financial accounting data received from backoffice systems, post corrections where necessary. In some instances provide full accounting backup to transactions. •Following up any outstanding issues with the Back Office, Middle Office and Front Office teams.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education An individual with a Degree in Finance/Accounting and experience of working in a back office or middle office environment of an Investment Bank
Past experience Preferably a partly qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA, other) with financial services/investment banking background.
Technical skills Knowledge of IFRS is desirable
