This individual would work out of our London office and report directly to the Manager of Deal Modelling. The Senior Deal Modeller will utilize their subject matter knowledge as they collaborate with other functional groups such as sales, development, quality assurance, and product management/marketing. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* 1)Prepare deal summaries that explain the deal structure, modelling assumptions, and considerations the end-user should be aware of when running the model.
2)Create cash flow models that are used by our clients for valuation and risk analysis.
3)Focus on constant quality improvement by suggesting enhancements to our products, reviewing models that were developed by other members of the team, and understanding how the cash flows should be impacted as the model is executed under different stress scenarios. 4)Assist in the development of modeling best practices and mentor other modelers on the team
5)Analyze structures that are complex or not currently supported to determine required enhancements to the modeling engine that would allow us to model these deals.
6)Assist the sales team as a subject matter expert who can discuss the details of our modeling methodology and the more complex features of our products with potential clients.
7)Focus time on “high return” activities; avoid distractions of non-essential details. 8)Continually look for areas of improvement in projects, products, processes. Push and sell ideas in a constructive manner to appropriate parties. 9)Display client and Lewtan needs are the primary focus by being creative within requirements and environment without being needlessly complex. TECHNICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Programming experience required (C++ is a plus)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA is a plus)
- Excellent understanding of fixed income mathematics
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - B.S. or advanced degree in a business/quantitative discipline (CFA Preferred).
- Experience in structured finance deal modelling/analysis and the capability of demonstrating the equivalent of a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Securisation industry.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills that have been developed through a client facing role or the need to explain complex concepts to others.
- Demonstrated ability to own projects or processes and work independently.
