Core JAVA Developer – Equity Derivatives – Market Making – Excellent Education

Tier 1 Investment Bank based in the City requires an experienced core JAVA developer to join their expanding Equity Derivatives business area within Market Making.

Essential Skills: Strong core JAVA development background; extensive multi-threading, collections and concurrency experience. Performance profiling & tuning is also required as is exposure to middleware messaging (ideally Tibco RV & EMS) & source code management systems such as subversion. From a business perspective, prior Front Office experience is a pre-requisite ideally this will have been gained within Equity Derivatives.

My client has been rapidly expanding their technology offering within the Equity Derivatives business over the last quarter due to very high levels of success. The team provide a low latency, high performance quoting platform to several trading desks that provide liquidity on leading European exchanges. The majority of applications are bespoke and developed in Core JAVA, however they use a number of third party solutions such as Wombat, Tibco RV and Oracle Coherence.

The JAVA developer will be responsible for building server side applications for the trading desks as well as capturing requirements from the business users. As a result of this excellent communication skills are required.
