Background The Asset Management business has outsourced their Middle Office functions. This is a well established and significant outsourced relationship spanning across multiple global locations. The services outsourced include corporate actions, settlements, reconciliations, income, accounting and client reporting, covering equity, fixed income, currency and alternative investments. The Role Within Investment Operations there is small team that liaises between the Front Office and our Outsource Provider for Corporate Action events. The Corporate Actions Manager is responsible for managing this team to ensure all Corporate Actions events are correctly notified to the Front Office and then instructed out to our Outsource Provider. Responsibilities Key responsibilities include the following: • Managing day-to-day corporate action processes to ensure accuracy of notifications and instructions to the Front Office • Ensure all Corporate Actions instructions are interpreted and instructed by the team correctly and in adherence to deadlines • Proactively deal with queries in a timely manner • Point of escalation for error resolution, liaison with internal risk department, senior management and internal/external parties as required • To identify and mitigate the impact of issues or errors on Front Office, fund accounting, settlements etc… • Carry out root cause analysis on errors and ensure controls are in place to stop reoccurrence • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to individuals through regular one-to-one's and appraisals • Identify training requirements for staff and provide them with the tools to operate effectively • Make recommendations and implement process improvements • Proactively work with our Outsource Provider to ensure they are processing corporate actions correctly • Hold regular meetings with Outsource provider to discuss issues • Provide statistics on weekly MIS • Capacity planning • Input and approve Corporate Action Events when required • Support and cover for team colleagues during period of extensive volume, holiday and cross training. • Deputise for Manager when required Required Skills/Competencies: • Substantial experience in Corporate Actions within Custody or Asset Management • Significant management experience. • Good understanding of all types of global Corporate Action events. • Excellent written and verbal communication • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate & influence as well as build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation • To be flexible and be able to multi task • Display excellent organisational skills and ability to be proactive • Strong understanding of risk and control • Must be able to work in high pressure situations Please note there may be a requirement to work bank holidays on a rota basis
