What you’ll do

The Development Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of high frequency, low latency trading systems for the Amsterdam office. This position reports to the Head of I.T. Europe.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee development of mission critical systems
  • Manage a team of 40+ developers
  • Review and improve processes and tools
  • Encourage Innovation
  • Manage the expectations of stakeholders
  • Plan optimal use of resources to achieve business priorities

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in a technical field
  • Proven software development experience in mission critical systems
  • Previous, successful management experience within software development (at least 5 years in a management role in development, at least 10 years in I.T.)
  • Ability to coach the team leads and developers in technical and soft skills
  • Knowledge of development methodologies
  • Able to work in a highly changing and dynamic environment.
  • Affinity with the trading business, at least highly motivated to learn the business processes.
  • Track record in managing expectations from the business side
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
