Our client is a leading economic consulting firm providing services in Pricing and Markets, Trading and Risk, Regulation, Project Economics, Financing and PSP across the Electricity, Carbon and Sustainable Energy, Transport, Water and Infrastructure sectors. As part of their strategic growth plans they are seeking a consultant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be results driven, highly motivated, ambitious and have the ability to use their initiative to contribute to the project team from day one. With the ability to work to tight deadlines, excellent interpersonal and communicative skills are essential as is the ability to multi-task under pressure. The successful candidate will; • Provide support to Senior Consultants providing desk research and data gathering to support investment due diligence for power transactions; - Be actively involved in whole project cycle including attending client meetings, conference calls and presentation of results;
- Provide written input to consultancy business development and marketing and assist other international teams (gas economics, renewables, carbon, energy regulation);
- Draft substantial parts of reports for review by senior staff and submission to clients;
- Develop long term electricity price forecast and power market analysis.
The successful candidate will ideally have; • Experience of power market modeling; - A 2:1 degree (or higher) in operational research, economics, or related numerate disciplines;
- A higher degree such as MSc or MBA;
- Previous experience within market analysis / economic modeling in the power, gas and carbon sectors
