Job Description:
To partner the Head of Liquidity and Funding, the Group Treasurer and the divisional senior management teams to:
Monitor and influence the shaping of the Group and divisional structural balance sheets, and
Embed the pro-active management of the Group’s scarce balance sheet resources within the Group’s divisional and functional management teams
Responsibilities
Activities:
Oversee the monitoring and analysis of the Group’s 5 year strategic funding plans by individual divisional area
Oversee the monitoring and analysis of the Group’s divisional budget and reforecast funding plans
Oversee production of analysis for regulators / Board / rating agencies and other parties on the division and Group’s funding positions and risks
Engage with the key businesses and manage their challenges to the cost allocation. Oversee the relationships between the team and all Group divisions to ensure that they understand and buy into the rationale of the charges
Engage with and build strong working relationships with the Short Term Market Funding desks
Manage the Group Transfer Pricing policy, ensuring entity and divisional compliance
Promote best practice in ALM across the Group
Member of the Group Treasury leadership team and Treasurers forums
The Individual
Experience:
Breadth of experience in liquidity and funding
Extensive banking, treasury and related regulatory experience gained from working within a large treasury function for at least 5 years
Detailed knowledge of a wide range of Treasury products, their use from a hedging perspective, their risks and the effect of external factors of the prices of such instruments
Proven communication skills at all levels
Recognised accounting / treasury qualification
Banking and Treasury experience
Ability to build rapport and influence both regionally and globally
