Summary This role will provide full support in development of a profitable corporate pension advisory business. The role will work closely with the team based in London as well as members/ other stakeholders in London and Paris to ensure the highest quality of services provided. The individual selected for this role will need to demonstrate a flexible attitude and approach towards meeting the needs of the business supported by a strong desire to learn. Successful candidates may be offered a permanent opportunity following the 11-month internship period.
Main Responsibilities Main responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 1. Assistance in all aspects of the team’s quantitative work. This includes model development, maintenance and improvement 2. Assistance in analysis of clients’ accounting statements (including annual, quarterly and other reports) and other relevant financial documentation (analysts reports, industry research, etc) 3. Assistance in development of risk advisory approaches (solutions, products, etc) 4. Monitoring and researching relevant legal and regulatory developments across all jurisdictions in which the team carries our their activities (including laws, accounting standards, etc) 5. Monitoring and acquisition of relevant in-house research (electronically, hard copy, fax, etc.) 6. Researching and collecting all relevant client information 7. As and when necessary preparing internal and external communication materials (including emails, presentations, etc) 8. As and when necessary liaising with traders, sales, legal, and other teams to ensure appropriate implementation of activities outlined above 9. Ad-hoc projects as and when necessary
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education • Strong academic record supported by a degree in (or be in the final year of) finance, accounting, mathematics or any other relevant science subject at a 2:1 (or equivalent for international candidates) or above
Past Experience • Demonstrate relevant experience during their degree course or since graduation either through direct working (internship) or academic (thesis) engagements.
Languages • Fluent English (other languages will be viewed as an advantage but are not essential to this role)
Technical Skills • Proven interpersonal and analytical skills (particularly technical computer skills) as well as strong communication skills are required
• The position will involve working in a fast paced and demanding environment. The relevant individual will have a strong interest in and understanding of financial markets as well as accounting and quantitative methods that govern them. Quantitative aspects of this role will require advanced knowledge of VBA
