Department overview The portfolio valuations development team builds and supports the systems that provide analytics and processing for Markit’s portfolio valuations product. The product leverages Markit’s broad range of real-time and T+1 market data to provide an industry leading mark-to-model valuation service spanning all asset types.
Position summary Java/SQL developer working on software for financial applications, in particular handling market data capture, technology infrastructure and/or valuations processing for the Portfolio Valuations department.
Duties & accountabilities Implementation of financial data software and website development using Java and Oracle technologies, working within a team of 20 developers. On the job training can be provided for financial aspects of the job. Business competencies
Education and experience
The right candidate will have a very strong academic degree or equivalent background in a numerate discipline.
Proven track record as a software development professional.
Java design and implementation experience essential, including object-oriented design patterns. Candidates with equivalent C++/C# experience will be considered.
Experience with a relational database management system, including SQL and E-R design.
Experience with highly numeric applications advantageous.
