Capital Advisor /Credit Risk Manager
Provide strong sales leadership required to grow our loan book, including:
Participation in pitches to both existing and new PB clients.
Systematically analyze the book of existing clients to identify new potential opportunities. Work with credit analysts and PB bankers to identify - and meet with - clients who (1) do not borrow but may have potential borrowing needs in the future, (2) currently borrow from other institutions, (3) own real estate and may have mortgage needs, etc.
Construct ideas for new lending opportunities or lending products, given current economic, market and/or legal trends. Create ideas/opportunities to leverage across Capital Advisory by sharing success stories/ideas with other Capital Advisors and with clients
Be an internal sales leader for the credit product. Reinforce the message (with the market manager and other ITM partners) that credit is an equal product partner and a great tool to complement other business. Work with bankers who have been successful with the credit product to help influence those that are not.
Maintain an ongoing dialogue with existing borrowing clients
Responsible for credit relationships with clients
Advise, negotiate and execute loan (including mortgage) structures
Structure solutions to client financing needs within acceptable risk parameters and in accordance with Credit Policy
Perform client due diligence and ensure that analysts prepare high quality credit analysis in support of a transaction
Negotiate legal documentation and pricing
Recommend risk ratings
Approve "low risk" credit transactions within authority granted by Credit Policy
Partner with credit executives and bankers to ensure that deals are vetted and approved with full transparency around all risk elements
Maintain ongoing monitoring/active client dialogue. Monitor credit quality of clients and transactions, and nominate candidates promptly for Radar List or risk rating review. Follow up on all client-related credit issues (e.g., missed margin calls, legal documentation, etc.).
Perform client due diligence in support of credit transactions outside the loan space (e.g., large and complex derivative transactions)
Understand and apply PB Credit policy
Participate in periodic client reviews for "portfolio review"
Understand, and help deliver the overall credit capabilities
Skills
Ideally, 8-10 years' working experience in PB or Investment Banking credit; with focussed experience in South Asia market will be an advantage.
Strong mathematical, analytical and writing skills; close attention to details
Enthusiastic and reliable team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum undergraduate degree, with major in Finance, Economics or related field; however, those with solid work experience of other backgrounds would also be considered.
