This is a newly created role, as part of a global strategic initiative to develop and enhance the Data Warehouse capacity, functionality and overall reporting processes internally. Overall the purpose of this role is to assist in the organisation's availability and accuracy of key data to allow the business to make quick, educated and strategic decisions.

The role's primary responsibility is to develop Data Warehousing ⁄ Database systems to facilitate multiple business processes around Risk and Compliance within the Middle and Back Office. Longer term this role will be embedded within the operations team as you will become an extension of multiple business units, streamlining their reporting processes and helping them extract knowledge from multiple large internal data sources. This role is locally focused but works as part of a larger Global Data Warehousing Team, with other team members in Europe and the US that you can share ⁄ exchange knowledge and best practice with.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop new database systems, ETL processes and in-house reporting infrastructure
  • Develop and performance tune the analytical reporting environment
  • Continually development, management and support of the database infrastructure
  • Gather business requirements to identify, scope and then develop system and reporting enhancements
  • Educate the business as to reporting functionality, practicalities and opportunities
  • Support existing DW infrastructure ⁄ reporting systems and all new developments
  • Become an extension of the operations team and the go-to point for Knowledge Management and Reporting

Technical skills required include:

  • Data Warehouse development experience - Min 3 Years
  • Experience with analysis, reporting and ETL tools (e.g. SSIS ⁄ SSRS ⁄ SSAS)
  • In-depth understanding of database design, principles and DW techniques
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL Server (2008)
  • Extensive SQL experience including stored procedures, views and triggers
  • Microsoft Excell and Access development experience
  • Experience with programming languages Java ⁄ .Net (Desirable)

Non technical skills required include:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self sufficient, highly motivated, resourceful individual
  • Be a problem owner and solver with a logical approach to solving issues
  • Knowledge of the Financial Markets in Middle ⁄ Back Office Processes (desirable)
