The role will primarily be responsible for ensuring that all financial aspects of the Regional Business Centre (RBC) divisions within Santander Corporate Bank including month end reporting, analysis, reconciliations and statutory accounting are produced in accordance with appropriate financial controls and accounting convention. You will be involved in the production of forecasting information, including monthly income forecasts, annual budgets and 3-year plan. Responsibilities will include liaison with the Business to agree and refine key assumptions and development of forecasting models as required. You will also be responsible for the delivery of financial support on commercial issues relating to the RBC’s, including support on financial evaluation of product pricing, new product development and ongoing development of business strategy. You will work with the commercial teams as required on RBC initiatives including development of timely and robust MI to support sales contribution reporting and annual contribution targets. You’ll identify and implement process improvements to drive increased efficiency within the Finance function. You will support the wider business initiatives across Santander Corporate Bank and Finance as well as supporting with ad-hoc activity as required. We are looking for a Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA) with demonstrable experience ideally working in a similar role either in another Retail Bank or Professional Accountancy Practice. You’ll have a thorough knowledge of IFRS. Your ability to apply concepts to a wide range of situations will be required along with the ability to tackle structured tasks, problems and interpret data. You will be required to maintain and develop established models and also develop new models, so strong PC skills, including experience of Excel, Essbase, Word, Powerpoint and other packages will be essential.
