An opportunity exists to join Deloitte's Petroleum Services Group (PSG) as a Business Analyst within their economic modelling team. PSG is an Energy & Resources industry specialist group which supports and leads Deloitte assignments from London, Houston, Rio, Singapore and Moscow. This group provides a world-wide upstream oil and gas asset and economics subscription service as well as strategic, financial and economic consulting to over 150 oil and gas companies, utilities, financial intermediaries and consultancies. Join this specialist team and achieve your aspirations To reflect the continued expansion of group and Deloitte's strong commitment to the Energy & Resources sector, the Petroleum Services Group is seeking a business analyst to join their specialist economic modellling team. Working with a team of four modellers, you will have the opportunity to build and support our existing upstream oil and gas valuation models. You will also have external contact with clients, providing technical assistance, training, as well as supporting the group's business development activities. PetroScope, our economic modelling tool for the upstream petroleum sector, generates strong revenues for the team. You will play a key part in marketing the tool in this sector and helping us deliver the level of service that our clients have come to expect. - Maintain, develop and enhance the core products of Petroleum Services
- Contribute to economic modelling based advisory projects
- Manage timely model updates to reflect any fiscal term changes.
- Be involved in the technical evolution of the model functionality using VBA and VB.NET technologies
- Lead marketing efforts for PetroScope, targeting prospective clients, providing product demonstrations and organising trials
- Deal with clients on technical support (including providing a dedicated telephone helpline support line) and training
To be considered, you would ideally have/be: - A science, mathematics, or IT focused degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong academic record
- Working knowledge of constructing formula based Microsoft Excel workbooks and some experience of VBA
- An understanding of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis
- Experience of creating, testing and delivering applications
- Exposure to the upstream oil industry
- An excellent team player but also able to work individually under your own initiative
- Able to work to tight deadlines using controlled time management
- Analytical and project management capabilities
- Good communication and presentation skills
