Opportunity for an experienced trader or sales person to rebuild the global markets sales team of one of the leading international banks active in Zimbabwe.

The client: A major investment bank with a very strong and long established presence in Zimbabwe, Sub-Saharan Africa and other Emerging Markets.

The mandate: To recruit, train and lead a new sales team based in Harare as the country rebuilds its economy into 2010 and beyond. To win business from new clients and increase revenues from existing accounts.

The products: includes FX, FX Options & Interest Rate Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives, Structured Investor Products, Debt Securities, Asset Liability Management and Structured Credit.

The individual:

• Will ideally be of Zimbabwean origin or will have at least a few years experience working in Zimbabwe’s financial markets.

• Will be able to demonstrate strong managerial, leadership and sales skills.

• Will have a demonstrable track record selling vanilla & derivatives products (preferably FX & Interest Rates) to large corporate clients.

• Will have proven expertise at selling risk-management solutions to clients.

• Will have 7 or more years experience working in a similar role at a major European / North American bank.

• Would ideally come from a Treasury background (though strong candidates with knowledge of other products will be considered).

• Will be proactive and commercially driven

In addition, it would be advantageous:

• If the individual has an appreciation of the cultural and socio-political nuances involved in doing business in present-day Zimbabwe.

• If he or she is of a pioneering nature and capable of meeting new challenges head on.

• If they have existing relationships with large corporations and financial institutions that trade in Zimbabwe.
