Reviews and analyzes operations procedures, processes, and problems to identify areas for improved workflow or automation. Reviews workflow to evaluate effectiveness and proposes system changes to improve productivity. Identifies and assesses skills and needs of staff to implement new system changes; facilitates staff ability to cope with change through appropriate training design. Knowledge/Skills In depth knowledge of day to day operations, usually acquired through experience in related areas, is required to recommend process improvement. Knowledge of system capabilities, usually acquired through formal training or experience, is required to assess automation possibilities. Advanced analytical skills, evidenced through formal training or experience, are required to evaluate effectiveness of processes and redesign processes. Negotiation and persuasion skills are required to work with partners and implement changes. Organizational skills are required to develop and monitor project plans. Project experience is required to identify, understand and manage inter project dependencies, risks and issues. Major Duties Reviews documents, existing procedures, and processes and recommends where automation/improved processes can be implemented to improve accuracy, timeliness, efficiency and to reduce cost. Investigates and identifies root causes of errors. Re-engineers processes to ensure client needs are met and efficient processes are in place. Develops management information reports regarding the operations of the area. Initiates meetings with business partners and/or managers for information gathering sessions to assist in the preparation of scope documents and business requirements. Interacts with staff in systems and operations to formulate and implement solutions to improve processing. Assesses and analyzes impact of proposed changes on workflow and on staff. Designs and develops documentation to support system and/or workflow changes and enhancements. Prepares and updates project plans. Prepares feasibility, cost effectiveness proposals, high and detailed level business requirements. Performs project related reporting to senior management and committee structures. Leads project meetings with project team and end users, ensuring active involvement of and communication to all. Plans and coordinates UAT Testing, creates UAT test scripts, executes and/or provides oversight to UAT testing of new systems and system modifications. Evaluates effectiveness of new system changes. Documents any systems issues related to production and/or UAT testing as needed. Prepares documentation for post implementation, including design/development of procedures and workflows for both manual and system changes. Conducts post implementation review and periodically reviews work for accuracy and effectiveness to ensure requirements have been met. Provides feedback to staff on issues identified. Ensures all program related business documentation remains up to date, including databases, network filing systems and hard copy archives if necessary. Identifies and assesses skills and needs of staff to implement new system changes; facilitates staff ability to cope with and accept change through training and communication. Provides hands-on-training for new staff and on-going training of experienced staff. Maintains technical knowledge of operations and how operation relates to other areas in the bank. Works with various IT staff members to coordinate several aspects of the overall project Troubleshoots and provides production support for system related issues. Extensive experience in financial industry operations and systems analysis. Experience in the foreign exchange/money market industry is required.
