This is a rare & exciting opportunity for a German speaking accountant to join a globally recognised banking institution. The role is based in London with management of an offshore team based in Germany. The position is responsible for a variety of accounting duties with excellent exposure to senior directors across the business. Initially duties will be split 50/50 between London & Germany with around 1/2 days travel per month.

Key Responsibilities include:

Maintain Books and Records, Provide Financial Control and Reporting for German branch

• Maintain the books and records in Oracle GL (enterprise general ledger system)
• Preparation of management accounts and regulatory reports
• Preparation of personal wage tax accrual, VAT returns and corporation tax returns
• Maintain and develop financial controls
• Manage the day to day offshore accounts function

Provide Financial Control Support for EMEA Finance Team based in London

• Implement existing EMEA legal entity financial control processes across additional legal entities
• Support EMEA financial controller in post-merger legal entity restructuring projects
• Provide cover as required within the London financial control team, assisting with existing monthly financial control processes and ad hoc investigations

To be considered for this role you will be a German speaking accounting professional with broad experience in a finance function, a strong understanding of German GAAP as well as knowledge of MS Office, Oracle and Essbase. Financial Services experience is essential.
