Responsibilities of the position include maintaining existing software applications and developing new software applications for their proprietary electronic trading systems used globally.

You will first come in and fix the current applications then take on the opportunity to build the firm’s own system.  This firm is seeking individuals who can bring their own ideas to both the developers and traders to help extort the markets. The position requires the ability to diagnose problems and develop solutions to meet trading and business goals and communicating clearly with colleagues across disciplines. Proven troubleshooting skills and enjoyment of teamwork is essential. Familiarity with financial markets is desirable although not essential. 

The ideal candidate will be an expert C++ programmer with excellent UNIX/Linux/SQL skills.  System programming knowledge of Linux and Windows are essential as is familiarity with scripting languages (Perl, UNIX Shell, awk, etc).
