Tradingscreen is a financial services company (est. 1999) specialising in independent multi-broker, multi-asset class Execution Management System (EMS) offering Direct

Market Access (DMA), discretionary, algorithmic and Notice of Execution (NOE) order routing to the leading sell side firms including all prime brokers and investment banks.

TradingScreen provides a flexible range of execution management interfaces to suit the client’s specific trading style/strategy including TS TradeSmart™ (Java based User Interface), TS TradeExcel™ (automated Microsoft Excel front end,) TS TradeFIX™ (Financial Information eXchange (“FIX”) connectivity hub) and TS TradeLink™ (automated flat file polling mechanism). Straight through processing (“STP”) is achieved through integration with many of the leading Order and Portfolio Management System providers.

TradingScreen is privately owned and currently employs approx 100 staff spread across 5 offices (London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong), ensuring a strong local presence as well as a global reach. Each region covers the key functions of the company: Development, Support, Sales, Infrastructure and Administration. Infrastructure / Framework Engineer Overview

An exciting and challenging position with exposure to a broad spectrum of technology.

The focus of this role will be to implement an infrastructure management framework solution. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a next generation, tightly integrated infrastructure management system.

The role will sit within the Infrastructure group which is responsible for managing and engineering the company’s infrastructure based on Windows/UNIX operating systems, networks, firewalls, servers and storage as well as applications which are predominantly JVM based.

The candidate will have very strong programming and development experience.  The system must be easily extensible, test driven and needs to achieve very high efficiency of infrastructure deployment, delegation and operational tasks.  The system must integrate with (or replace) existing directory services, monitoring services and infrastructure management systems.

Infrastructure Engineer Skills Matrix

  • Programming in a Linux/Solaris/OS X environment, including development of Web based and scripted services.  Rails, (J)Ruby, Java, JavaScript, CSS a requirement.  Some experience of Perl, Shell, C/C++ useful.
  • Solid knowledge of infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, syslog, networking (TCP/IP, Multicast, SNMP, BGP), System management and administration.
  • A track record in agile development methodologies, test driven development/design, constant build, version control and integration tools.
