This senior level role will be a key member of the Product Group in BGI’s US iShares business, with responsibility for strategic investment management and product analysis for investment advisor clients. The successful candidate will serve as technical expert on the iShares product suite, craft and deliver client portfolio analyses. In leveraging investment, product knowledge and various investment systems expertise, the Senior Investment Analyst will be an important client facing leverage point for winning new business and/or deepening large existing relationships collaboratively with the sales teams. Primary Responsibilities • Respond to client portfolio and product assessment requests by crafting robust, customized analyses. Types of requests include, but are not limited to, detailed portfolio/single fund analyses such as returns based style analysis, holdings analysis, risk and return attribution, along with portfolio optimization exercises. • Proactively lead efforts to disseminate investment and product knowledge with internal and external clients. • Lead client meetings/conference calls in preparation for and in completion of client requests. Travel with sales team to stay current on the most critical issues facing advisors. Convey these relevant issues broadly for strategy development and execution. • Collaborate with sales and clients to clearly and succinctly convey our research/analytical capabilities and ensure the resultant studies fully address the client’s issues/objectives. • Leverage extensive client facing and investment experience to evolve the types of analyses completed, techniques applied and delivery approach. • Manage the operation by stewarding the project pipeline. Partner with Investment Analysts to set the agenda and timeframe for creating and delivering client studies. • Seek to evolve the project workflow by recommending enhancements that may leverage existing software and software vendors. • Continually expand and deepen investment, portfolio construction and iShares product knowledge base. Stay abreast of current market environment and the latest relevant investment research. Apply where relevant. • Serve as an active participant in cross-divisional teams. • Serve as a key speaker/participant at BGI sponsored and industry conferences as needed. • Actively participate in the development of Investment Analysts. Qualifications • BA/BS degree required. • CFA, or progress toward, preferred. • 7 – 10 + years industry experience, specifically extensive investment management knowledge and experience. • Working knowledge of portfolio construction and optimization approaches required. • ETF product familiarity and industry experience strongly preferred. • Strong analytical skills. Experience with MPI Stylus/Allocator, Zephyr Analytics, Morningstar Direct/EnCorr, Barcap Live, Bloomberg or similar systems, required. • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity & ethics. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Extensive client facing experience (investment consulting/sales), required. • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically/horizontally in a fast paced environment.
