Our expanding Risk & Controls Solutions (RCS) team partners with clients to improve their risk profile by identifying, quantifying and managing risks associated with their business, across a range of risk disciplines including credit, market, operational, technology, governance & compliance, data analytics and forensic risk services. As a Market Risk Manager you will play a key role in the group's achievement of its ambitious growth objectives in the Financial Services sector. The changing landscape of Risk presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manager to explore and drive new business opportunities. Specifically, this role will be responsible for supporting business development, delivering consulting engagements and leveraging your subject matter expertise to grow our capabilities in terms of intellectual property and developing junior staff. This is an exciting opportunity for a Market Risk specialist to join our emerging Risk practice. Responsibilities include: - Designing and delivering market risk strategy, governance and policy (eg. trading mandates, price verification, limit management) solutions to clients
- Developing and implementing market risk processes (risk calculations, limit monitoring and reporting)
- Actively promoting and contributing to relevant internal knowledge sharing forums and external thought leadership
- Building profitable relationships with potential and existing clients that help grow the Risk business
- Managing a professional and motivated team, including mentoring junior staff
Skills & experience required: - Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years market risk experience in the banking sector, preferably international experience in established banking institutions
- Expertise in financial engineering - previous experience in modelling would be highly desirable
- Solid understanding of end-to-end market processes & how these support market-related decisions
- Strong understanding of a broad range of financial instruments (structure, underlyings and risk calculations)
- Appreciation of the practical issues involved in implementing market risk proposals
