JOB DESCRIPTION: Role will have heavy daily borrower and client contact and will be liason with all functional groups within the company. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: - Developing new borrower relationships for equities and fixed income exclusive and discretionary lending program(s)
- Introduce new trading opportunities to the firm and its client base
- Manage the North American lending desk and look to expand our global discretionary lending program
- Work on portfolio estimates and analysis
- Assist Sales and Marketing in efforts to attract new client mandates. Focus will be that of a product expert and will be actively involved in all facets of the sales process
- Collateral Flexibility - Work with internal groups and clients in an effort to educate and expand the acceptable collateral profile across the program
- Tri Party collateral management Initiative - work with internal groups to expand eSecLending’s eligible repo and tri party collateral management counterparts
- Liaise with all internal departments with respect to all borrower related activity
- Coordinate pre and post auction analysis and represent Trading in client implementations
- Manage borrower compliance related activity
- Coordinate the Department’s efforts with respect to process improvement, management, and control
- Extensive interaction with Operations, IT, Billing, and Reporting Groups. Considerable problem solving skills are required
This is both a qualitative and quantitative role suitable for an entrepreneurial minded professional with a minimum of five to seven years of relevant securities lending industry experience. QUALIFICATIONS: Seeking a university graduate with a BA/BS in Economics, Business Management, Finance, or related field; with a minimum of five years of industry experience. Prior management of a securities lending trading desk is highly desirable. A positive can do attitude, and a proactive approach to problem solving are prerequisites. Knowledge of the securities lending industry, computer systems, financial operations, and advanced spreadsheet skills are expected. Candidates must be detail orientated; have excellent oral and written communication skills; be capable of managing multiple projects and possess excellent problem solving skills. Advanced degree (MBA or CFA) considered a plus.
