We are recruiting a very exciting opportunity for a leading European Investment Bank. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to make an impact on a high profile strategic initiative for the Emerging Markets business supporting the opening of new office offices.

The Emerging Markets IT team provides support to the Emerging Markets business globally. The mandate is to support all products that the business trades, including: OTC interest rate derivatives, exchange traded interest rate derivatives, Bonds, Repos, FX, MM, credit derivatives, equities & commodities.

Usually the team leverages applications owned by other technology teams in the bank but owns pricing, risk management and P&L reporting for the Emerging Markets business. Although the responsibilities of the team have a Front Office bias, there is a need to understand trade flow from front to back. The opportunity would suit an individual who is either working in Emerging Markets or within a business line but is seeking the challenge, variety and drive of a new business start-up and working across multiple business areas.


Main Function
The candidate will demonstrate leadership in working with the front office to define detailed requirements of the planned trading products and working alongside the EM technical architects who design and build technical solutions. He or she will play a critical role in the definition of middle and back office requirements as well as defining and documenting test strategies.

Detailed knowledge of market risk would be of great interest. Hence, the successful candidate not only will have worked on Front Office trading systems, they will have two or more of market risk experience and / or front to back trade flow knowledge and / or test experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to be able to discuss this in detail exhibiting a good understanding of products and controls.
The successful candidate will own the relationship with the users. This will include front office (trading and sales), market and credit risk, middle office, operations and other external third party system owners. The candidate will be equally at ease discussing business and technical issues, and be able to lead solution discovery.


Main Duties
This is a 'hands on' role, requiring:
• Business analysis
• Clear, complete and accurate documentation of user requirements and functional specifications
• Running workshops to explain and walk through business requirements
• Either:
• Definition and delivery of a test strategy, test plans and test scripts.
• and / or
• Detailed knowledge or Market / Credit risk
• Execute system testing.
• UAT support.
• Problem solving and responsibility for issue resolution.
• Training users and post production support staff.
• Liaising with external resources (regulator, exchange and 3rd party vendors) to determine business requirements.
• Working with Middle Office and Back Office systems owners in defining Middle Office and Back Office systems requirements.
• Defining system interface requirements to other external systems


Person Requirements
Qualifications /Education:
• Good academic qualifications with a relevant Degree or equivalent.
Experience required:
• Proven and solid experience in Investment Banking.
• Emerging markets experience preferred but not essential
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of pricing, risk management and end to end process flows of IRD and any other products above
• Full project lifecycle experience is essential
• Testing experience is essential
• Analytical aptitude is essential.
• Clear & concise verbal and written communication skills are a necessity.
• Strong problem solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Experienced in taking responsibility for investigating, finding solutions and closing issues.
Skills and Knowledge: (Specific product knowledge/PC skills/languages etc.)
• Some technical development background
