For Oaktree Capital Management, a global multi strategy alternate investments firm headquartered in Los Angeles, California with $61 billion of assets under management, we are looking for a Senior Accountant / Loan Administrator.
Job description:
As Senior Accountant / Loan Administrator, your main responsibilities will be:
- Administering of distressed-loan portfolio: - Performing calculations of, and monitoring accrued interest on, purchased securities and remitting payments received in Luxembourg to Oaktree in Los Angeles - Reconciling interest accrued with daily cash entries, following up with counterparties on discrepancies, and ensuring that all interest due is received and reported internally on a daily basis as part of the European treasury function - Working with fellow fund accountants on monthly and quarterly reconciliation of transactions and interest received.
- Preparing periodical financial statements of Oaktree's Luxembourg-based entities
- Preparing periodical VAT returns
Who we are looking for:
- Qualified accountant -Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (experience of other European languages is desirable) - At least 5 years experience in an international accounting, investment funds environment, or corporate accounting of a "blue-chip" company - IT literacy (proficiency in Excel, Access, BOB, Demasy and/or Geneva would be an advantage)
- Bachelor degree (B.Sc or B.A) or Master degree (M.Sc. or M.A) in Accounting, Finance, Management or other related discipline - Previous positions : Loan Administrator, Financial Accountant, General Accountant.
- Availability, ability to complete large volumes of work independently in restricted time-frames. - Ability to work efficiently within a dynamic and successful cross border team. - Intellectual honesty, integrity, and creative problem solving ability. - Detail-oriented; superior analytical skills
