Our client, due to launch their exciting new Asia based initiative in mid-2009, aim to provide an efficient and transparent pricing platform for end-users and the global trading community to trade tailor-made contracts, hedge pricing risks in China and across the region, lower transactions costs and increase participation by Chinese and international traders in the specific sector in which they operate. Reporting to the Network Manager, this new hire will be responsible for providing daily administrative support for the corporate network, trading network, and client connectivity. The position will be required to operate in a multi-national, fast-paced and constantly changing environment, in which technology is central to the success of the business. The successful applicant will focus on providing support to the helpdesk and application support teams on network issues; will performing daily network administration, routine health checks, monitoring and troubleshooting; will provide technical support services for the installation, configuration and maintenance of network equipment including routers, Ethernet switches, VPN concentrators, security appliances, LAN, MAN & WAN; will participate in network and security projects - taking responsibility for the implementation of routers, switches, firewalls, concentrators and security systems; they will dealing frequently with direct client requests for connectivity and issues relating to successful connection; work with new client connections, and market access development rollouts; and finally, will work with the preparation of performance reports and status reports. The client are looking for applicants with a degree in a relevant discipline, in addition to some professional qualifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCSE, CCSA, CISSP, CISA. They want to see candidates with a minimum of 5 years experience with a large scale Cisco network, preferable within the financial industry. Technically the applicants should have an in-depth knowledge in LAN, WAN, MAN, DNS, DHCP, VOIP, Netscreen Firewall, VPN, Cisco router and Network security practice. They will have solid knowledge of Routing protocol include OSPF, BGP and EIGRP; and should also have a good knowledge of network monitoring tools include HPOV, CiscoWork. The candidate should also have extensive experience in operational procedures and commands on Solaris, Unix Shell, and Linux. The role will suit someone able to solve problems independently, with good interpersonal skills, that is self-motivated and able to work under pressure and challenges. The role also requires candidates that are flexible and happy to operate according to a shift duty rota, or work at times outside normal business hours on a scheduled or ad-hoc basis, and be on call support for network outage.
