Leading global investment bank with an enviable record of success. The specific team is responsible for development and support of various systems used by the Equities, Fixed Income and Investment Banking Divisions to manage Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and other equity & debt offerings. These applications support all parts of the business flow - deal origination, marketing, order entry by Sales, electronic exchange of orders, allocation / pricing, trade booking, settlement & reporting. All members of the team work closely with business users globally in eliciting end-user requirements all the way through to the analysis, design, implementation and rollout of new solutions. The team is closely aligned to the business units it supports having considerable interaction with front-office Traders and Sales professionals, middle-office functions and back-office Operations staff.

The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work across various business domains (Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Bank Loans, Leveraged Finance and Structured Finance) to design and develop web-based applications using Java based technologies like Spring, Hibernate and also enable these web apps to have Web 2.0 capabilities using ExtJS, and AJAX. There are several major development projects currently underway to replace legacy systems, so the applicant will also be in a position to work with the core technology team on the next generation of capital markets systems. There are multiple opportunities to work with new technologies, and make significant contributions towards supporting a growing business. Some agile methodologies like unit test and continuous builds will also be used. Other responsibilities include adding enhancements to existing applications and also supporting various Capital Markets system.

The successful applicant 2+ years application development and/or support experience, with good core Java/J2EE and some web app development experience. The candidate should have strong SQL, familiarity with Unix / Linux, good analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a larger global team. The firm are looking for applicants that can demonstrate a flexible attitude to supporting applications/users as well as undertaking development projects.

Experience with some web technologies like JSP, Struts, ExtJS, Ajax, JavaScript and HTML, knowledge of the Spring framework, JBoss / Tomcat Application Servers, Hibernate / other O-R tools, Perl/CGI, or financial industry knowledge within a front-office environment would also be advantageous.
