This opening represents an exciting opportunity for a quantitative equity professional to join Credit Suisse's Alternative Investments Department as a portfolio manager responsible for EMEA in the quantitative equities group.

The Quantitative Equities Group (QEG) in Credit Suisse Asset Management is responsible for managing equity portfolios that seek to outperform a variety of U.S. and global equity benchmarks. The team additionally manages long/short equity market neutral strategies as well as short extension strategies. The team uses statistical and economical models, together with advanced technology and extensive financial databases, to perform rigorous investments analysis with a discipline approach to risk control.
Position Description: The candidate will be an integral part of the creation and implementation of models in the areas of international and domestic stock selection as well as risk management, portfolio optimization, transaction costs, and performance attribution. The candidate will also be involved in prospective client presentations and portfolio reviews for existing clients. Skills Qualified candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the field of finance, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Quantitative, Engineering Math including Computing Studies from a leading university and a Master's in a quantitative field. PhD is a plus. The candidate must possess strong programming skills with expertise using C/C++, SQL, MatLab or SAS, and VBA. The candidate needs to be knowledgeable in finance and have experience working with large datasets, particularly financials databases such as Compustat, WorldScope, IBES, etc. The qualified candidate will be a detail-oriented team player with an entrepreneurial attitude.
