Typical engagements within Strategy would include:
  • Comprehensive Business Review: full “drains up” review of a business, determining strategic implications and options
  • Business Model Transformation: structure organisations to focus their cost base around capabilities; explore industry-wide economic impact of changing business models
  • Strategy Alignment & Execution: manage strategic focus continuity through large transformation programmes; translate high-level corporate vision & strategy into executable actions
  • Revenue Enhancement: design organic growth strategies (customer, channels & pricing strategies); manage complex businesses, global product ranges & international customers
  • Policy Development & Evaluation: advise government & business at the interface of public & private sectors; leverage stakeholder management & consultation techniques; policy evaluation and option appraisal
  • Portfolio Strategy: review corporate business unit portfolios; transaction-related strategic support; inorganic market entry and/or exit
  • New Business Launch: support clients in design build and launch of new businesses from ‘end-to-end”; bring to bear the whole of Deloitte to solve the client’s business launch needs

  • People: Manages team on projects; Gives formal developmental feedback; Handles difficult situations well
  • Team Player: Encourages and motivates team; Sets an example to team
  • Firm development: Leads specific firm activities; Ensures contribution to Knowledge Management
  • Core skills:
    ?         Significant previous experience in strategic advisory projects 
    ?         Incisive thinker, confident with concepts, analysis and frameworks
    ?         Highly intelligent with outstanding numerate skills
    ?         Team players with an enthusiastic, positive, ‘can do’ attitude
    ?         High integrity and a professional approach
    ?         Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with notable presence
    ?         Eager to learn new skills
    ?         Passionate about doing a good job for the Client

    ?         Ability to structure, manage and deliver change
    ?         Strong presentation skills and executive presence
     
    Industry specific required skills:
    ?         At least 7 years of experience in the THL sector
    ?         Broad knowledge of the THL market and deep knowledge of at least one sector or sub-sector of the THL marketplace
    ?         Thorough understanding of the forces and trends affecting the THL industries -around the globe - combined with an ability to articulate these trends
    ?         Understanding of key operational and technology considerations impacting the THL market
    ?         Ability articulate where and how Deloitte can assist clients in the THL space through an understanding or appreciation of the services we can offer
    ?         An established network of mid to senior management contacts in the THL sector
    ?         The ideal candidate will likely have previous, industry relevant consulting or financial advisory experience, or have held a strategic planning or business development position in a leading THL company
     
    Additional preferred skills:
    ?         Second language other than English
     
    Other pre-requisites
    ?         Full travel mobility
    ?         Right to live and work in the UK
    ?         Compelling list of THL companies on client list or track record of career success with an established and reputable THL industry player
    ?         Minimum 2.1 degree from reputable university
